Other Bookmarklets About | Help |
LinkBox tools allow Netscape users to create "temporary bookmarks" - you can add pages and links to the LinkBox and they will be gone the next time you start the browser. LinkBox also allows you to grab all the links on a page, or just some of the links, and process them in different ways. Some situations where LinkBox is useful: |
Add Current Page This adds the current page to the LinkBox as a link. Add External Links This adds all the links which go to domains different than that of the page. Add Internal Links This adds all the links which go to the same domain as that of the page. Add All Links This adds all the links on the page. START Select mode This puts you in selection mode. While in selection mode, you can select links by clicking on them and they will be added to the LinkBox. STOP Select mode This turns off selection mode, restoring link navigation. CLEAR LinkBox This clears the LinkBox, wiping out all the links that are in it. |
Sort the Links Arranges the links in the LinkBox in alphabetical order. Sort the URLs Arranges the URLs (the Locations) of the links in alphabetical order. Filter - Exclude... Removes all links whose URLs contain a given text string. (For example, you can exclude all the links going to a certain domain by excluding the domain name.) Filter - Include... Removes all links except those whose URLs contain a given text string. Show URLs This displays the URLs (the Locations) of all the links in the LinkBox. Export LinkBox as Page Creates a webpage containing all the links in the LinkBox. This can be used to store a LinkBox permanently on your machine. To read the links back into the LinkBox, open the stored page with your browser (by choosing Open from the File menu) and then use the "Add All Links" tool. |
Note: LinkBox ignores image links - it only handles text links.
Known problem: Due to a bug in Netscape, if the link text wraps onto several lines or has some formatting then the text may be chopped. Tip: To add links from webpages that are framed, pull the page out of the frame by choosing "Open Frame in New Window" from the right-click menu. Another tip: LinkBox has "unlimited undo" - you can return to a previous state of the LinkBox by choosing "Back" from the right-click menu. |
