TRC Marklets

TRC Marklets allow you to markup a Table in order to extract and process the data in a Row or Column of a table. They require Internet Explorer 4 (or above).

Normally it would be difficult to add all the numbers in one column of a table, but TRC Marklets make this very easy!

To use them,

1. Keep the marklets below

Point at each of the 3 links below, right-click, and choose "Add to Favorites".
TRC-START
TRC-STOP

2. Keep the "TRC- Process Table" marklet

Keep it the same way you kept the marklets above.

3. Markup a row or column of a table

Go to a (nonframed) webpage that contains a table. Select an entry in a row or column as a starting place. Then choose TRC-START from your browser's Favorites menu. The marklet will add some (invisible) tags to the webpage. Then select another entry in the same row or column as a stopping place and choose TRC-STOP from the Favorites menu. Here's a page with some practice tables. (Read the remaining instructions before you begin marking up the tables.)

4. Process the table

Choose "TRC- Process Table" from your Favorites menu. This sends the data for processing. You will be given the choice of listing or summing the data.

5. Clear tags before marking up another row or column

Keep the "TRC- Clear Markup" marklet below. Choose it to clear away the (invisible) tags before marking up another row or column:
